Harper's Globe was a social show produced by EQAL and CBS, which began daily posts on March 10, 2009, and officially premiered on March 18, 2009. It served as a companion to the CBS miniseries Harper's Island. The show ran for sixteen weeks, concluding with Harper's Island in July 2009.

Harper's Globe was the first EQAL series not to be part of the lonelygirl15 universe.

The show follows Robin Matthews, the new social media manager at the titular local newspaper on Harper's Island. She vlogs about her experiences as she gradually ends up an unwilling participant in the unfolding horror on the island.

Episodes[]

Harper's Globe ran 16 main episodes, with three airing ahead of Harper's Island and the remaining 13 airing in conjunction with new episodes of the television series. Episodes 1 - 14 were made up of select clips of shorter videos that were released over the intervening weeks between main episodes, along with new content.

A complete list of Harper's Globe episodes, and associated blog and vlog content, can be found here.

Alternate Reality Game[]

Harper's Globe was an interactive experience, encouraging fans to make personal accounts on HarpersGlobe.com and collaborate with Robin and each other to solve the mystery.

Various pieces of digital media outside the main episodes and vlogs were made available, some ahead of the series premiere. These include...

  • WPU Dorm Diaries: A blog Robin maintained in college, shortly before the events of the web series.
  • The Hometown Press Website: The official website of the mysterious publishing house that recently purchased the Harper's Globe newspaper and arranged for Robin's hiring there.
  • The Harper's Globe Archive: A selection of newspaper articles from Robin's archival efforts. While some of these would eventually appear on the television series, the majority of them were exclusive to the website.
  • Character profiles: Several characters who would appear on Harper's Globe and even Harper's Island had profiles on HarpersGlobe.com. These included web series-specific characters like Brent Cyr and Sparky Mackle, as well as characters from the TV series like Nikki Bolton and Kelly Seaver. Regrettably, none of the user accounts from the website have been preserved by the Wayback Machine, and can be considered lost media.
